Fed up with those typical payday advance companies with their flashy promises of quick loans and fast cash? So were we, so we sat down and brainstormed how Wonga could be fast, flexible and convenient and still be a responsible lender. How could we provide loans online without the flash, but instead leave our customers grinning and smug like any money saving expert would be, knowing they pocketed a few quick quid with the fastest online loan provider in the UK?

The moment of brilliance arrived and our Trust Rating system was born.

How it works

Once you become a Wonga customer, your trust rating determines how much cash you can apply for. In line with our responsible lending, if you've never used our service before the maximum we'll offer you is £400. This amount will gradually increase, up to a maximum of £1000, if you continue to use Wonga responsibly and repay our trust in you.

The amount available for you to apply for at any one time will be shown by the cash slider whenever you login - your own unique slider.

Our philosophy  

You can control every element of your Wonga cash advance using the sliders on our homepage. We let you decide exactly how much cash you want to borrow and for how many days, thereby also allowing you to control how much it will cost. Unlike traditional lenders, we're only interested in making money when you repay the cash and get rid of the debt, not by sucking you into a long-term commitment or forcing you to borrow more than you need.

We consider lots of factors and our system uses complex equations to calculate your rating, but it's been designed to reward sensible use of the service in a very simple way - by giving you even more flexibility!
