Wonga customers rave about our instant loans online

February 6th, 2009

Wonga made it onto the silver screen this week, well, the nation’s laptop screens and PC monitors anyway! Around ten brave (or was it fame seeking?!) customers came to our London offices just before Christmas to rave about our instant loans online.

They were joined by some of our better looking staff members and two very cool guys from Bonneyandklein – film producers extraordinaire. We had a hectic but very enjoyable day’s shoot and now we have a series of brilliant videos which explain what Wonga is all about and why our customers love our instant loans online.

You can check out one of the clips below, but you’ll also find more around the Wonga site, or by searching for Wonga on YouTube. Happy viewing!

I thought I would share with the blog how I made some decent savings while on holiday in the USA and what I used my most recent loan, from Wonga for. I’ll be a bit clearer, I call it a ‘holiday’ but that would be quite a loose term.

My situation is that my ‘better’ half stays over there, so until we complete out future plans, I am forced into making several trips per year. It is quite an expensive relationship, but that’s what happens when cupid calls I guess!

Well I like to make savings so my flights are always booked coach class, and together with my accrued air miles over the last couple of years this trip was almost free, (not quite), but just about!

If I was being completely honest, I did not really intend on taking out another loan, but when my mind calculates possible savings and those savings outweigh the interest on my Wonga loan, it can become very worthwhile. I’ll explain what happened and why I took out a loan.

The last few years have been quite a challenge, with going back to university my income had been depleted somewhat. During this time (and thanks to Wonga), I managed to survive and avoid those ‘Nasty’ bank charges! I also became very careful with money, spending only what I had to. When I visited an outlet store in the USA specialising in men’s clothes, I realised I badly needed to upgrade my wardrobe (I was simply amazed at the prices), I am talking a fraction of the price compared to back home with the majority designer label. I knew I would have to buy them fairly soon anyway so I decided to take a loan from Wonga.

Now here is the best bit, I was over here in ‘America’, I needed a loan and I got it with the click of the mouse, I didn’t have to worry about going into offices signing paper work, I got it even though I was 6000 miles away! I simply went back to the house, applied for my loan, got accepted and that was it. I was able to use the funds within an hour. That is so impressive and what I call a ‘speedy service’

I am also fortunate to have a bank account that does not charge extra for foreign transactions, so this was a real gem. I managed to completely outfit myself with over a dozen items from jackets to shoes. I was quite pleased with myself and still had around USD 200 left. I decided I may as well use the remaining cash to make further savings, so bought some nice gifts (some for Xmas) including a nice bottle of Scotch for Fathers Day. I even took the trousers I had bought to a small alterations shop on the way back from the outlet store, not surprisingly it was cheaper than back home too!

The remainder I spent on a couple of large jars of coffee and a few other items I calculated would make a saving. Today I compared the prices I paid for the goods, subtracted the interest on my Wonga loan and discovered I had still made a saving of £163.87. That’s not a bad deal!
